Title: Button anyone? Post by: wondering on March 08, 2015, 10:49:38 PM I found this button on pasture land about 7 inches down best I have found out just because on the back is Jennens & co london.
There is a distinct cross swords with little slashes above them its not embossed just looks to have been guilded so its not really been washed lol. Any help would be great. By the way, you've got it upside down.
It was commissioned by a family called Jenner. Here's a link to a livery button site. Yours is the 7th down on the left. The makers were Jennens & Co who were in existence from 1800 - 1912 they didn't add London to the stamp till 1832 so that gives you a window of 1832 - 1860 after that time they stamped the back with the Prince of Wales Plume. https://sites.google.com/site/liverybuttonsidentified/home/weapon-sword-and-dagger Val Title: Re: Button anyone?
