Was just having a quick look, my great grandfather died as a result of injuries sustained at the Somme, he died in 1916 and was buried in Trealaw cemetery in the Rhondda, it was nice to find out that these have been recorded on the net. My brother is more up to speed on it than me, but thanks for asking I will find out. at St.Symphorien Military Cemetary Belgium.Interesting to note that this was a German cemetary from August 1914 to November 1918.so he would have been buried by German soldiers. Sydney was my mothers uncle and although she knew of his existence her father (my grandfather) never mentioned his brothe Sydney.It was only when I was doing some family research 2 yrs ago that I came across Sydney's obituary on the CWGC website. . St Symphorien cemetary also contains the graves of the first (Pte J Parr 21.08.1914) and the last (Pte G Price 11.11.1918) allied soldiers to be killed in WW1. .
