A recent picture turned up in the Isle Of Man of medieval  church that belonged in a Priory complex that was built in the 14/15th century and now is incorporated in the stable block on site that experts claimed was a folly and the original church had disappeared by 17th century..This picture proves different as it dates from 1770s and the Roofless church was still standing.(no doubt the same heavily altered building in stable block). But whats more interesting is the early dedication to St Bridget a follower of St Patrick and baptised by him.She is said to have been buried at this spot and said to been reburied with St Patrick and St Columba at Downpatrickk in Ireland .We cant prove any of this ,but we know there were plenty of shrines created by monastic orders and holding relics of the earlier celtic saints.Why am I sure their was a shrine to St Bridget here ,because the Chronicle of Man written by the monks who controlled this land said Robert The Bruces army camped there the night before he captured the English held Castle Rushen that's only a few miles away in 1313 a year before Bannock Burn where he had a shrine box with him of St Fillan a Scottish saint and told his army on morning of Bannock that sign of victory against superior English because bones had shook in the box.We all know what happened at Bannock Burn in  1314c and I would like to believe that something similar happened here :)
