Can anyone tell me who's head is on this cut coin and any idea why it would have been cut

George II and my guess would be that it came off second best in a fight with a mower or power harrow ;)

 thanks for that Geoff I thought it was but couldn't see a II after it so wasn't sure, as for the cut it just looks so neat

It's a George II Irish "Hibernia" half penny date probably 1730s ;)
