Title: Worn silver today
Post by: farmer(phil) on June 07, 2009, 06:05:20 PM
Peter,

Found these 2 very worn coins today, plus the George 6d 1924
Both of bust side - heads seem to face to the right - same size as a George 1st shilling

Can you work the oracle???

Well done Phil. Did you not have the rain I had. It has chucked it down all day here and I only live 30 mins away.

Phil, nice finds, must be more where they came from, not much to go on for an id but i'm fairly sure they are William 111shilling's,i've had lots in similar condition and it is common for them to be very worn. :)

Thanks, Simon & Paul,

Paul - Kev said you wern't available today...had no intention of going myself, but said you were welcome to go .

Went at 11ish in my t shirt, boiling hot - same field as last week, found the one just yards up on the cobble path you found under the ground and the other up by the house

See you soon

Farmerphil ;)

Got some more good land soon I hope
