It "was" the best program in the beginning but it uses Ferrous sounds which aren't the best system in the UK, these are what I use and recommend ;)

DETECTOR MODE; ADVANCED

SENSITIVITY; MANUAL 20 - 32 GO AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE AND STILL KEEP STABILITY OR AS AN ALTERNATIVE GO WITH 32 IN AUTO SENSITIVITY BUT IN THIS SETTING THE EXPLORER WILL BE ULTRA CAUTIOUS AND WILL SET THE SENS LOWER THAN YOU MIGHT NEED TO GO MANUALLY AND A LITTLE DEPTH MAY BE LOST.

DISPLAY; SMART

SELECT; CLEAR SCREEN, SCROLL DOWN AND REJECT NAILS BY ENTERING X THIS WILL LEAVE A SMALL PORTION OF SCREEN IN TOP LEFT CORNER BLACKED OUT.

VOLUME; MAX

GAIN; 8 (10 if a clean site)

TONE; THRESHOLD 1

VARIABILITY; 10

LIMITS; 9

SOUNDS; CONDUCTIVE

RESPONSE; AUDIO 3

RECOVERY;  DEEP on FAST off Reverse this if in trashy ground or on the Ultimate coil I run with both off.

Hey Geoff. I have the same set-up as you but i am curious as to what the benefits are to turning off the fast and deep functions in conjunction with using the Ultimate coil. What improvements or variation in performance would i notice were i to do this? Cheers
Johnny

Hi Johnny, I've just found that with both the ultimate and SEF coils on the XS the signals become slightly more positive with both off ;)
