Title: Same old + some
Post by: Resurgam on August 24, 2014, 01:32:02 PM
Based upon some earlier observations this year, I decided to give Talacre an other go this morning and after working through the same old scrap managed a couple of coins.

                           £1 decimal, rotting 2p decimal, a George V halfpenny, and a 1939 sixpence.  ;)

it was a lot of digging but not too hard on the old back; being sand.

Hi Richie,
although I overslept and didn't get out till 06:00; I was just leaving the beach as you were thinking about to getting out of bed.  ;D

I used the EuroAce and it didn't play up too much; it worked well on the dry sand and not too badly on the wet.

I keep promising my self a day at Splash Point, but I have had a gold signet ring and a George III half penny off the Beach at Talacre.  ;D

As I put the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle that is Talacre together, I anticipate better finds; but it is hard work!  ::)

I still have to knock the sensitivity back three notches on the EuroAce when moving onto the wet sand; though I will be moving back onto the beach with the CS4PI asap.

The BBC weathemanr says that tomorrow's weather will be very promising, but the rain has been hammering on the caravan roof for hours now and it isn't showing any signs of letting up!  ::)

Hi Richie,
I put in a few more hours this morning; once the rain had stopped. Gave up at lunch time, due to windy conditions. Managed a load of scrap, eight coins, and a doggy tag.

                 2 rotting 1p decimals
                 1 rotting 2p decimal
                 2 £1 coins
                 2 heavily encrusted copper coins
                 1 thrupny bit

                 1 doggy tag

I will pm you some information that you may find interesting  ;)
