Title: Two new coins
Post by: Dale on August 12, 2014, 07:17:20 PM
I added two new Bristols to the collection today, both Henry III a Walter and a Jacob. The Jacob has (mint bloom) its original coin surface in the fields its a golden colour with a minty shine, not cleaned, its very hard to capture with the camera :-\ its got its flat spot but its as struck, I don't think its a detecting find, but I cant say that about the darker Walter  ;)

Thanks for keeping us updated with your growing collection(s) :)

I always thought about starting a Cardiff collection, but it would be pretty small - and well out of my price bracket :)

The closest I've come so far was the 'ALAIN ON CARDI' of Henry II - attributed to Carlisle.

No worries Roland ;)

Cardiff would be good but as you said expensive and small, that's the good thing about the Bristol mint its not as common as others, there's a good selection of coins and different monarchs, with coins to suit any collector price wise.
Iv now started to collect the same coins but different dies, especially the Edward IV mule groats, it all helps the collection grow ;)
