Title: Emperors of Rome by David Potter
Post by: hedgehog on June 04, 2009, 07:47:52 AM
Picked this one up the other day and it is a potted history of all of imperial Rome from Julius Caesar to the last emperor.
Boring!! It's not, doesn't go too much in depth and I am finding it interesting. It is a book that you can pick up and put down , it's nice to be able to put a name and a bit of history behind the coins that you find.
It's also interesting  that initially emperors were part of the senate and how it devolved to basically the armies choosing at certain points, a bit of the practiced religions too.
I bought it out of the bargain shelves at £4 usual price £12.99 Will refer to it again and again I think!
