I made a huge step today based on advice I received which was to avoid the jumpy high conductivity readings on the far right of the pattern. I did this and walked away from nearly all the iron I detected.

Instead I found three coins and a musket ball ....I think? The other finds I have not been able to identify but are vey interesting especially the metal topped wooden peg... Any ideas? The Five pence piece is included in the image for scale.

I have probably done ten hours with the MD now and I am beginning to grasp the basics.

The extra time I had from walking away from the iron I really got to hear some different tones. The two and a half hours I spent was far more relaxed and productive

The 'D' buckle is a nice find but what on earth is that thing that looks like 2 discoloured fried eggs ??
Looks like a musket ball, well done, finds are already getting more interesting (and curious).

weldone ,you need a lot more hrs than that under your belt ,stick at it

Bo, the metal topped wooden peg is the top part of an umbrella.  The bit that all the spokes are attached to.  I think we all find some of them and they baffle all of us.  Bet you'll find another one now. ;)
