Title: Wanted-2nd Opinion
Post by: Val Beechey on May 25, 2014, 01:44:28 PM
I found this last week and have been pondering since what it could be. Last night I was going through PAS looking for something else and I spotted first 1 and then another 2 very similar items.
Size is about right and design is very similar. Could anyone confirm they are the same. Would be nice as there isn't one recorded in Wales.

PAS Ref.   SWYOR-86F357

Well yours is certainly interesting but all the examples you've posted I would say are wrong as these "things" crop up pretty frequently, all of mine go to the scrap man, we even had a thread about them not to long ago?
Yours however looks more the part but what is happening top and bottom as far as holes are concerned?

Geoff,  can't tell exact dimension of top hole as there is iron (I assume) poking through but I'd guess approx. 6-7mm.  The bottom hole is  14mm inside measurement.

Thought it was full of mud but it's iron. Must have broken off whatever it was attached to.

Doug,   just re-read the other thread.  as you have no sizes on your pics I was going 'by Eye' so to speak and yes the do look like poker tops.  Looking at mine, all I can say is it must have been made for a pigmy. It just doesn't 'sit'
in the hand. It's only 40mm long, not big enough, I don't think.  Though I must admit my 1st thought was 'poker'
Can't imagine what sort of machine part it could be either but what do I know.
