Title: Arrow head ?
Post by: Kent on April 23, 2014, 09:57:55 AM
Hi all i sent mark lodwick a email about the arrow head and this was his reply.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the email. The artefact is a socketed spearhead (tip) fragment of middle or late Bronze Age date but of indeterminate type because of is fragmentary state.

It does require a full record, could I borrow it for a short time please? Are you local to Cardiff? If so perhaps we can arrange a time for you to come in with it.

thanks chef you were right .

Umm I'm not 100% on the spear tip/fragment idea and what put me off that in the first place is the break and wear on both blades is symmetrical and I'm not happy with the idea of both blades "rounding off" so neatly.
Mark is suggesting that it started life like the one I've put up on "your oldest find" thread which has broken and this is the tip ???  Are there any small holes along it?
