Title: IS IT ????? BLING
Post by: Val Beechey on April 18, 2014, 07:50:13 PM
I was sorting out what to put in the bin from todays trip and when I picked up what I thought was a washer or something, I noticed the black stuff was peeling off.  I had a little prod and poke, as you do, and I think I might (just might) have found a tiny GOLD ring.
Pici attached,  what do you think ??

Could well be JCB.  I know they still make 'cut out' rings that fit around an Engagement ring. Never seen one this thin before though.
I picked it up and said to Hubby 'If I can find this I know I can find a ring if I walk over it'  Ha!.Great.

yes val i dont think you will have any problems finding bigger thicker rings if that thin one gave a good signal , good luck val and well found

Many thanks for your comments. I've tried hard enough for the past 4 years so I reckon it's about due. ;)

Cant see any hall marks, do you think that means any thing.

Flippin eck Val, I would have thought that the presentation box was a good clue to it being a gold ring, and the box is in such good condition as well!!!!   ;D

Hubby says , aren't we a daft lot, they're probably saying to themselves, thank the lord she's finally found some gold, now we can all have some peace.    Me, I say we've all got a special kind of humour.

Dale, fairly sure it is gold. Yipeeeee.  I did it. Now for the big stuff  ::)

Chris, That box is wearing better than me.  A good argument for sitting doing nothing  ;)

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

Iam going to stick my neck out and say its at Tudor at least, as its got that ancient gold look 92 percent gold or there about...Its the right colour Val to be old ...more yellow than modern 22 carat ..my opinion Val ..

Had to bore you with this one.  Isn't Mother Nature wonderful. Eyes only find but must admit first glance I thought it was a ring.
And a better pic of the other one.

Amazingly it's a shell surrounded by mollusc excretions.  I've painted it with clear nail varnish to preserve the fine filigree made by the molluscs otherwise it would just break down and drop off.

Is that Dylan hiding in there somewhere ?  Name change, pici change, I can't keep up.

Long way to go before I'm anywhere near Badger.  Just nice to shout about my 1st gold ring.  Being so small, as well, it gives me hope that I will find another one. That's assuming I can get near the beach. Went yesterday and couldn't even get in the Car Park.  Ah Well, with age comes understanding. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR   I hate all those visitors  >:(

Still. if it weren't for them there wouldn't be any finds on the beach  :-\

Thanks for the link Roger.  Might treat myself to some, then I'll have to work twice as hard to find another ring to test. ::)

Thanks Gil. Must admit that's one fashion I missed. I did see a lot of thin bangles but never rings.

Steve, are you talking about the shell ring.  Wasn't my craft work, that's how I found it.  Mother Nature, she takes a bit of beating. ;)
