Silver is a hat pin, minus the pin.

"Charles Horner (born in 1837, died in 1896), the original founder of the jewellery business, achieved much in his 59 years. With his innovative designs and undoubted marketing skills, he laid the foundations of a thriving business, which survived two world wars. It finally went into voluntary liquidation in 1984, at a time when a large sector of British manufacturing industry disappeared."

Gold item is what I think is one part of a fob seal.

Another Charles Horner piece.

I did think it was what you said but I see a hat pin on one of the TV antiques shows a few years ago of a similar design.

Thanks Geoff, that would tie in with the date from the makers mark quite nicely.

Surface finds.

Top one is a riding (hunting) crop handle, one below not really any idea.

doug i think the top horn is what the whipper in would carry with the hunt , for cracking the whip to get the hounds to gather in one place , it would of had a small wooden pole built in to the handle with a long leather whip coming from the pole

Thanks, I did see a photograph on the inter web which shows the rider unhooking a gate while still on the horse with handle of the riding whip.

Pure guess...............Reliquary.........A receptacle, such as a coffer or shrine, for keeping or displaying sacred relics.?

That's 2 good guesses.

Well the closest item I have found was a item on the PAS recorded as a dress fastener, its very different from the normal type we see.

One of my earliest and an unusual one I think, found with the good old Garrett 250 a silver Georgian fighting cock spur.
