You should come up to midwales  beaches are riddled with stuff, I went for an hour this morning and had 30 coins lots of buttons and other bits, that was just an hour of detecting.
I have never been a fan of beach detector but I thought I would start giving a go last week, and this is what I have towns so far total time spent detecting 7 hours ish

I'm hard pushed to find anything at Porthcawl, the storms have ruined the beaches. Hope you have better luck than me.

Hello All.
I have to go down to Port Talbot to give a lift to work for a family member - from Torfaen.  I was thinking of having a look on Aberavon Beach for few hours. Can any body give any guidance please -  such as what part - near the large jetty? next to steelworks etc or back up towards Swansea.
What time of tide and how far down beach. I am complete novice having tried the hobby only twice at 2 rally's a few months ago. Been busy or committed with other things ( not prison). Regards Viv.
Appreciated in anticipation.  Will possibly be in afternoon prior to picking him up after shift at 1930hrs.

hello viv ,sorry for late reply bud, on aberavon look for low spots down near section A about 100 yards out .detect until you find bullets and fishing weights and grid that area.
beaches tend to get to the beach about two hrs before low tide .
 good luck
  mike

Hello Mike. Thank you very much for the reply. Had to find it first as ( fairly obvious really) someone had placed it in a category. But whatever,  nice to see the site and members work. Again much appreciated. Viv.
