First one is a coin from the eighth coinage of James VI of Scotland. What size is it in millimetres? That will tell us exactly what it is.

Second one is a penny of Edward I, London mint, Class 4e.

That makes it an Eighth Thistle-merk  (Strange names some of these Scottish coins had). Date on it looks like 1602
