Your Lion is classed as a Lion Regardant  which means looking over his shoulder or behind.  He is also standing on a rope which could indicate a Livery mount.     i.e.  a Hunting mount,  possibly off Horse bridle or something similar.
Never seen one on it's own, usually see them on buttons.

Once again, size would help.   Nice find though Leigh. ;)
