Title: POWER LOSS
Post by: Mike on February 04, 2014, 06:25:03 PM
battery operated equipement ( nobby don't even think about ann summers   :D ) looses power as the batteries loose power , why don't detectors do this , my gt just dies in seconds  :-\ :-\

Hi Mike,
There's a voltage regulator circuit in most detectors that maintains a constant operating voltage for the main circuit, this gives the circuit stability. But at some point when the battery voltage drops too low the regulator circuit cuts off, and the detector shuts down, causing the quick cut off that you see.

It's all part of the detectors design.
