Title: There's gold in that there pasture...
Post by: herbie on February 02, 2014, 03:47:38 PM
Back in the pasture field today and had lots of finds again, the best being this Victorian gold brooch, shame the pin's broken, also had a Vespasian AS but that's in soak at the moment, my earliest Roman yet I think.

Very nice that mate - would love to see a pic of the Vespasian when you clean it.

Just finished reading a great series of historical fiction based on his life by Robert Fabbri - a very good read!

This is the Vespasian from yesterday, such a shame about the condition, don't want to do too much to it re cleaning in case I loose any more detail, came out of the ground like a grotty old Georgius!! But still my earliest & biggest Roman yet :)
