The coin on the right is a Nuremberg Jetton of Hans Krauwinkel II between 1586 and 1635 and I can't see why it would be a fake as the real thing isn't that scarce or valuable. The left hand coin though is a different matter as it's meant to be a penny of William I minted at Oxford but IMHO the weaknesses in the strike (around the M and U) above the head are far too similar to a Dorchesters replica of that coin to be coincidence; http://dorchesters.com/william-i-the-conqueror-penny-bonnet-type (http://dorchesters.com/william-i-the-conqueror-penny-bonnet-type) Title: Re: real or fake ?
