Title: Couple of firsts Post by: WEBBER on November 11, 2013, 01:26:47 PM On my last couple of outings had a couple of firsts for me a George 2 sixpence and what I thought to be a Georgian farthing turned out to be a James 2 Limerick Besiegeged farthing made from a gun money shilling anyone else found any of these before?

If you happen to go to Limerick you can go to the site where the treaty was signed ending the siege in 1691 - I went there in 2011. They were the last coins struck (officially) in Ireland until independance. They're quite collectable, especially with the under-type showing.
