Explorer XS Explorer 2 Explorer SE Explorer SE Pro Etrac CTX 3030 I presume your asking the difference between the XS and the 2? Minelab are very good at making people spend more money by shuffling functions and giving it a new name :-\

Anyone just coming into FBS machines I would advise to go for the newer, SE or Etrac, purely because they are more user friendly but as for ability there is not a lot in it and if you want FBS at a good price then the XS or 2 are worth looking at. Think I paid £300 for it back then scond hand. As Geoff said apart from the new whistles I don't think the Explorer range has changed that much in ten years. A great number of users of both machines eventually replace them with an Explorer/Etrac if they stay with FBS which should tell you something.
