Title: Deus relic mode
Post by: Dungbeetle on February 10, 2013, 05:27:52 PM
Do any of you use the Deus relic program and have you had any success with it. I have got some good fields that have been worked out and I'm wondering if this program would pick up deep hammered or is the 4khz frequency too low?

Ye it would work great with your big coil this is wot these coils are best for

No program, frequency or Motion machine will pick up deep hammerds at least not penny sized ones. I'm afraid it's the laws of physics, mineralisation is conductive, this conductivity is cumulative as depth is increased whereas the detectable conductivity of a target decreases as distance increases. Eventually that of the target and soil are equal at which point the target becomes invisible.
This is why air testing means very little as there is no mineralisation to interfere with detection ;)

Thanks for your replies gentlemen. I will try it out on these  searched out fields. Nothing ventured nothing gained.  It might just pull something out on the higher frequencies limit. Paul, Keith came out with me yesterday and got a Thomas Shaw token 1666 I think it's  from Denbigh and in good condition

I think this wet weather has certainly helped in increased depth - as long as the soil isn't too wet.

Yes there is a marked increase in depth in wet weather it brings some fields back to life after a dry summer (if we ever get one)
