Another good day with a nice little strap end and a very bent hammered which snapped at the very last moment.

WTF  :o I think you need to work on your Uri Geller impersonation a little more ;D

However I do like the 'strap end'. Kinda reminds me of an old fashioned window latch  ::)

shame about the hammie and it was an unrecorded eddy penny worth £25k , hey ho ,  :o :o :o

perhaps you should practice on some old willys first alan ,to get the feel of things so to speak   :-* :-*

I had my doubts with it as well Geoff, but i didn't know what else to call it! .. that was printable!   ;D. 
Any other idea as to what it could be?  ..and the age?

the guy i was detecting with also got a cromwell penny and a charles 2nd shilling ..... and a nummus.

an interesting field to say the least ..... lots going on in it.

next time alan anneal it.heat it up red hot cool it then slightly straighten it and repeat until straight .only slighly bend it small amounts at a time.takes a while but worth it.
 nice finds though i aint had a hammy for a year

just an update on the so called 'strap end' .. it turns out to be a harness pendant 13th to 15th century in date.
