Title: Attention Twitchers...... Help please
Post by: waltonbasinman on July 13, 2012, 01:06:15 PM
Whilst enjoying the rare appearance of the sun yesterday with a day detecting near Ludlow during tea break I noticed this bird ( the one in the centre of the picture, Not the sparrow at the top or feeding swallows below and behind ). It has a striking red belly and underbelly especially in flight. Lovely when flying and hung around for 10 mins before disappearing. Any chance of an ID please.

Well, lets see if it starts a debate.  I think it's a Meadow Pipet.  About the same size as a Redstart.
