I followed the links kindly posted by Geoff with great interest.
I could not see though any examples that were very close to Stan's object.  Yet, I think an item I found up on the west coast of Scotland in the summer is a very close to being almost identical.  It was found 15ft away from the outside of a wall of a walled garden.
It weighs 3lb 2oz or 1.65Kg.
It has a circumference of 190mm or 7½".
It is 65mm or 2½" tall.
It is octagonal.
