I have to applaud you Mike, detecting that beach can be soul destroying with the amount of rubbish and false signals its
constantly giving. Also the beach being soooo big, its difficult to locate yourself on area's known to be somewhat productive.

That's what always puts me off beach detecting Mike, the size of the beach. Over here you can walk out on Berrow beach and you look up and down and think to yourself "where the hell do I start", it's 5 miles long and when the tide goes out, well!

that is the price you get quoted online by the postal gold companies that rip you off . high st dealers take around 15 %  off the live gold trading price :o

http://www.hattongardenmetals.com/ (http://www.hattongardenmetals.com/)
They would of given you £327 on today's prices.

yes the etrac is a vlf machine and the head hunter is a pulse induction machine which is better for areas of black sand that trap gold rings.
the etrac has discrimination and loads of different tones for different metals and the head hunter has only one buzz sound so you end up digging everything like nails ,hairclips hot rocks ,bricks ,green glass so its harder work but can punch through black sand better than a vlf machine :)

Got to agree, Hatton Garden Metals are excellent - they give you much more than anyone else, and the money is in your account the same day they receive the gold - just make sure you send it special delivery ;)

hows the headhunter going dancing with badgers, have you mastered it yet ;) it would be nice to know if they really do detect deeper and i know you would tell it as it is. they say their isn't discrimination on many of the pulse machines available, so are they a big advantage .

some have got discrimination but mine aint.i dint know whether the head hunter is any deeper on the gold than my etrac set up yet, only time will tell.what i do know is it picks up minute bits of gold like a single chain link while theres no way the etrac would, time will tell on the depth bit.spring tides coming up so im going to try and beat my record of 12 gold rings in 5 tides last year
