You must have been over the moon finding that. I agree you with the handling artefacts bit - its always a strange feeling being the first to touch an artefact in thousands of years.

Title: Re: beaker period gold , my best find of 2011 Post by: seeker on January 02, 2012, 09:28:27 PM there has been different ideas on there use , hair decoration , ear ring , and bead from necklace , there going with bead m necklace these days it seems as they have a necklace of them in b/m that came from a burial in Ireland but got to be hard to tell , mine has a small pierced hole like the ones they thought were hung from earring so dual purpose maybe ?.
