Title: My Interview on Radio Wales
Post by: Al.Thepastfinder, ( Alan ) on November 08, 2008, 08:33:45 AM
BBC Radio Wales - Country Focus Programme

The Rhondda Club was invited to take part in 30 min BBC Radio Wales programme (with Melanie Doel) called Country Focus in June 2006. This programme involved metal detecting and the interest of the hobby.

It included interviews with one of our members Alan Jenkins on one of our club fields in Cowbridge and an interview with Mark Lodwick (Finds Liaison Officer, National Museum of Wales) at the Ferndale Rugby Club. This turned out to be a success and an enjoyable experience for the club.

Cheers Stu.

Alan is obviously an experienced detectorist and knows what he is about.

He did say that the finds he makes should stay in the area. This I at one time agreed but since then the finds I donated to the local museum was put away and never displayed again. The Arky chief  is not all that amoured with us so we send them to the National Museum instead, that is if they want them. Mark Lodwick came to Wrexham some 6 years ago and I allowed him to take a couple of items which was never returned, he could not find them he said. So much for that.
A very nice recording and a good PRO job.
Thanks Al.

Thanks for the link Al, The detectorists involved came across very well, and it was refreshing to hear all the positive comments from the reporter and the farmer.

the farmer came over great too,

i done some more for them early last year and on the Jerremy Vines show on radio 2,
