Post by: welshdigger on November 09, 2011, 10:47:55 AM
hi guys and gals, was talking to an old fellow in my local pub last night and after chatting about metal detecting he said to me he has a totaly unique coin . it has maximus on one side and hadrian on the other ? some kind of commerative coin or something? he said it was taken up to scotland a few years ago as they had never seen one like it and were baffled ? .. apparantly his grandfather found this coin overseas somewhere (wouldnt tell me where?) and been passed down through the family.

anyways i was just wonderig if any of you coin experts could shed any info on this so called one off coin as he is bringing it to show me friday night and i would like to share any info about it with him.

or is he a drunk old man thats pulling my leg??

If any thing I would think He has got his emperors mixed up, there are coins with Hadrian on one side and Trajan on the other.
