Title: New coil :)
Post by: Jon1987 on September 03, 2011, 02:41:04 PM
Hi all,

As I said in a previous thread, I was going to visit Regton at the weekend.
Let me tell you, it was well worth it. A detectorists heaven!

After about an hour of looking around at all the great  equipment and finds on display, I left with a wallet £100 lighter and a new Garrett double D coil in hand  ;D

Fast forward to today...

Today was the Pembrokeshire Prospectors annual charity rally. Raising money for the charity HOPE.
This was the perfect chance to try the new coil.

Straight away I was impressed, pulling up a small Georgian buckle about 4 inches deeper than anything iv found before.
Next were two slightly more modern  buckles, again about 3-4 inches deeper than I usually can expect.
Finally to finish  my day off, I dug out a suspected William III shilling ( very worn) a whole 5 inches deeper. In a very iron rich part of the field too, the double managed to pick it out just fine.

To say I'm delighted would be an understatement. Just got to get used to digging those deeper holes now :D

Bring on tomorrows rally, I cant wait.

Hi Jon
Glad you're impressed with the new coil. Well worth it when it works. Sounds like you had a good day out with PP despite the weather.
There'll be no stopping you now. All you've got to do is walk over it. ;D

Val

p.s. You didn't say if you were impressed with Birmingham. ::)
