I wonder what has been your best year as far as finds have been since you started detecting. I have like everybody else good and bad years but 2009 has been my best so far for hammered, 21 in total, but what was so different is the fact that 15 of them were found on rallies.
Four at one,three twice,two twice and a single one. three of them were at the first Rooksbridge rally and most of the others at various DW rallies including a battered gold hammered, so don't dispair if you haven't found one at a rally yet !!
 This year it is back to normal only two so far but oneof those came on a recent DW rally. So good luck every one I have had my share and it is thanks to all the rally organisers.

Well i am still a novice when it come to detecting but my best rallie will be the rambo rallie outside bristol i had 2 hammered in one day and my best find will be my gold ring with 16 mini diamonds  ;D, been detecting just over a year so can complain.Cheers.Nap

You certainly did well on the DW rallies that year Pat. My best year for finds on DW Rallies is shaping up to be this year with 7 hammereds to date and five from DW rallies. I've not failed to find some form of silver on each of the DW rallies I've been on this year! A stellar year on the silver front for me.

well i have to say previous years have been good to me with a usual 34-35 hammys per year and after a flying start to this years tectin {gold coin and artifacts, 4 dinari etc}im only on my 13th hammy of the year, :'(,,i think i will put this years tectin as my lazy year ;D
