howdoo peeps ,when i awoke this morning i was'nt really up for a detecting session because i could hardly see for half an hour but i did'nt have any work on so i tossed a coin to see if i would go to aberavon or pembrey.pembrey won so off i went and im so glad i did because i ended up with 2 gold rings and a ww1 medal .
 the 9ct white gold ring has 0.5 cts of diamonds,the 22ct ring is from 1927 and the medal is ww1.
 aaaaaaaaaaooooooooo i love full moon time even if i do go a bit loopy .cant wait to go back and get some more.good luck on the rally peeps but you know where i will be ;D

Yes I've been lucky enough to track down a return two medals over the years one was to the actual man who won it. Always nice too find, but most of the guys who won them went though years of hell to be awarded them so I would never feel right holding on to them if they can be returned.

i agree geoff, i would have to track down the family...i bet the guys face was priceless when u returned it!

He said he hadn't seen it since the 30's and couldn't actually remember loosing it.

Thats a great day out Badger - Well Done!

The medal you have found is the War medal 1914-18 from the trio of Pip, Squeak and Wilfred. You have found Squeak which is made of silver - sterling silver 92.5 parts to be precise. Please don't scrap it though as its part of our history and a great talking point in your finds cabinet. In a time before detecting - medals were my thing.

A cracking find - congratulations on the rings as well. I disagree with Peter in that we often have 9ct rings come in with diamonds (they just tend to be flawed or of a smaller carat, colour or clarity}. Get them tested.
