Geoff, Yes William * Bateman worked out of London, i found those n marks are London ones between 1856 to 1905, as well as other dates, , , so perhaps they went to London to get Stamped where his press might have been, or that was his base, they were still used on their other stuff from other areas, the same for Edinburgh i found one for 1846 to 1905 on there, To me it still looks like Birmingham 1887, Al.
