whats the benifits of this one over the Garrett Ace 250 ?

Numerous!

Think of it it terms of owning a mini or a Rolls Royce. The 250 is an ok start off machine but the E-Trac is totally on another level.

Put it another way I started off with Garret 250 and within 3 months upgraded to the E-Trac. I would not be selling the E-Trac if it was not for my bad back.

You could wear a corset, they do some nice ones now.  ;D

Was it the Monsterlab that caused the bad back  ???

I put the post with a pic of you in a corset but Taff removed it to save your blushes!

Have you considered putting the ET in part ex with a dealer for a Deus or whatever? You may as well go for the ultimate hammered hoover.............and, instead of a season ticket to watch CCFC you can listen to it on Radio
Wales!  ;D

Haha PMSL  ;D

As for part-ex yeah did think about it Bob, but think I will get more from a private sale. The offers have been coming in after only one day and nearly there for what I am looking for and 46 watchers so far so I am confident of getting the price I am looking for.
Thinking of getting a F75 special ed as they seem  to be light and good machines.

Hi Jon

I haven't ever used a F75 but someone I know who has had all the machines was asked about the
F75 yesterday and his reply was:

Having just got shut of the latest limited edition black f75 i can confirm......it is a very poor mans Deus. Its biggest failing is its rubbish if your within 50 yards of another machine and if your at a rally your knackered.Unstable rubbish on iron and im sorry Toddy Irvine but they DO lose depth in the ground. They are average at best and i was fortunate enough to test it side by side with a Deus and an explorer xs and they both wiped the floor with it.The explorer was the deepest the Deus was deep and the fastest and the fisher was miles behind.Too many iffy signals with rubbish stuff registering as good.Deus as an all round wins hands down.

Make of that what you will !

Oh not want I wanted to hear :(

Although I have read plenty of food reviews as well.

The other one I was looking at was the T2 special ed.

The Deus is a bit rich for my blood at the moment.

The F75 Ltd is in the region of £950.

Sell the E T privately and have the difference for the ultimate on interest free with Regton?  ;)

I wouldn’t read too much into that, it sounds like he did not learn how to use it properly. I have the Etrac and Deus and can assure you the F75 is just as deep as either of them. The F75 takes some getting used to, but if used properly it is at least equal to anything else out there. The T2 is also another great machine and is also very deep. I have friends with both machines, so I have seen them in use regularly

If you can, try any machine you are thinking of buying, you need to be confident with what you are using and the only way to find out if you like it or not, is to use it.
I personally do not rate the Deus highly. I like my etrac , but it has some funny quirks and I am enjoying using my G2, although it is a machine I am still learning and believe it will come into its own when the plough season arrives.

Whatever machine you choose will be more than capable, it is how you feel about using it which really matters

Have to aggree with doddy10 here

The F-75 is probably a very good detector in the right hands, like a lot of detectors some people do not learn how to use them properly

They buy every new detector that becomes available use them for a few hours, and decide there rubbish, next thing you see them on Ebay  ;D

I am confident in my Deus i have taken the time to use it, and test it for a year.

The bottom line is as Doddy says, you need to try before you buy. Not so easy as I don't know any dealer
that will let you take it out of the showroom on to a field. You will have to try and borrow one from a fellow
detectorist. Even then, it can take several trips out on different fields to have a 'feel' for the machine.

The other thing is that people's opinions on a machine will vary......as you can see!

Doddy is the only one I know who has used an ET or Explorer that doesn't like the Deus, which is fine
as everyone is different.

The mini review I printed above is from someone who has also used the G2 a fair bit and enjoyed that
machine but wrote that his tests showed it wasn't as deep as the Deus, but the recovery speed was
excellent. Again, someone else will disagree with that.

He has also tetested the F4 which he thought was excellent in terms of depth but, due to the search
frequency, wasn't as good on cut halfs and quarter hammereds as the G2/Deus/75.

I'll be interested to see what you choose and how you get on with it... ;D
