I really want to go metal detecting but just did the beaches and i haven't a clue where to go now.....I know no one with any fields but hopefully after tomorrow night when i join SMDC they can point me in a direction to tect

Theres a Cardiff SCAN Club meeting tomorrow Zeus if you are interested in applying for membership. We have plenty of "Club land" that members get access to after a cursory call to the farmer.

Its the same for everyone when they start out. I would recommend calling at a local farm that you think is promising and asking for permission. The worst thing they can say is no. Its the law of averages that if you call at enough farms one of them will be kind enough to allow you access.

We have a few DW rallies lined up which you can attend, but not for a little while as the ground is like concrete or in crop at the mo. I call these months "The Barren Times" as almost all of everyones lands is not accessible. It won't be long though untill we have a flood of land available.

I would love to attend but there's also a Swansea club meeting tomorrow night that i am attending and applying for membership. I called into a couple of farms today and they both said no. Just have to find some more and ask them.

If the meeting was on another day then i would have happily attended :)
