Title: What`s This Coin? Post by: Stig(The) on March 29, 2009, 04:35:28 PM Found this coin on my first hunt at a farm in Crick(Caerwent way) & after a clean am still unable to identify it. Can anyone help or have any idea`s? It`s slighty bigger than a old halfpenny & slighty smaller than a penny,it`s 27mm across,1mm thick & 95mm in diameter.The coin weighs 6:3grams,Regards.

Title: Re: What`s This Coin? Post by: simon c on March 29, 2009, 07:42:01 PM Looks very much like a George the 3rd soho 1/2d which would be dated around early 1800's,you can some times tell from the milled edge,its often very serrated and rough.Hope this helps
