Did a quick census search on name
1901 shows a 11yr old in Brymawr
1911 shows 21 yr with full name in Aberystwyth so presumably same person.
Might give you a lead
Should have checked Rob's note first but it does tie in!

Superb finds maxine. Believe it or not, Lewis Boys is my old school but I was there a few years after that, so I don't remember Clifford Judd personally  ;)

I agree with your ID on the pilgrim badge - dates 14th to 16th century, one of the best I've seen.

Thanks guys for all your help, much appreciated, :) I thought today that maybe there was a chance someone might have known of the Judd family in the area, would be nice to return to a relative, Thanks Pete for the ID of the pilgrim badge, had a shock when that popped up, :o Hi Viv went back there yesterday (Swansea bay) sand had moved  :( the bay changes every day and is so vast, its just luck on the day! :)

Looks like Mr Judd studied Chemistry at Aberystwyth.

He wrote this paper with Thomas Campbell James who became Professor of Chemistry there.

The addition of negative radicles to Schiff's bases. Thomas Campbell James and Clifford William Judd.
J. Chem. Soc., Trans., 1914, 105, 1427 - 1436
