Apart from a good clean, my motto is...

 If it aint broke.....

Saying that I dont know jack at the moment being a newb n all.
I think there is a whites place in Inverness if that helps.

 Cheers Jay

I'm a great believer in the old "if it aint" approach, In fact, my job relies on it,any how, all i would say is electrical components age, with that, certain items involved in the tuning side can drift, so it may no longer be working at its full potential.

As DetectorDave said, send it back to Whites.

Phone them up (tel number off the website - they're in Inverness) and make arrangements for them to do a service.

They will have it back to you within a couple of days. Their customer service is absolutely legendary.

seeker at some point we all think that our machines are missing finds, or not as good as the guy next to you. judging by the finds you are getting there doesnt seem to be too much wrong with you machine mate.
i sent my Sovereign away to minelabe about 2 years ago because it went KAPPUT, cost me about £12 postage if i remember right.
and that was just coil and control box......and ofcourse you have to pay for return postage too.
if it aint broke philosophy works for me every time if you dont need to send it

Try these guys, make sure you get the receipt off the driver when they collect.
I use them all the time,

http://www.interparcel.com/index.php (http://www.interparcel.com/index.php)

You pay credit card and have a choice if carrier and insurance. UPS are about the best choice i find. check out their (interparcel) web site.
