Title: Coin Wieght (possible)

Any body got any ideas on this I found today,approx diameter 35mm ,5mm thick and weighs just under an once. There looks like initials C S stamped on it

Whats it made of , looks like , the end of a shotgun cartridge., or even a 30mm cannon shell cartridge , we used to cut the ends off to make counters for an RAF game called ukkers.

 to me it looks like A CHARLES THE 1ST WEIGHT,  see below,  the s is around a sword dagger handle, see below,  this is  a 17th centuray Charles 1st trade weight - Crown C with London hallmarks

I agree, it's a trade weight. With the crowned "C" it could be Charles I or II.

if u got a moment al/peter - have a look at the weight i posted in detecting finds -- would love to know the age/type.  [see thread -what a difference a day makes]

otherwise i'll ask our FLO on friday at our club meeting

i have one  similar came back as charles 1st .
i would think yours is too.

Many thanks everybody for quick ID. Just added better close ups of markings. The reverse apears to be random scratches
