Title: Shipwreck Treasure
Post by: Jonola (Jon) on November 01, 2009, 11:49:14 AM
I am currently watching The Discovery Channel and a programme called Treasure Quest. They stated that last year they found a paddle steamer with $75 000 000 dollars worth of gold and silver coins. So here is a question for anyone who might know or want to guess. What do they do with it all? Artefacts go to museums and collectors no doubt but the HUGE amounts of bullion must be smelted down I assume? Coin collectors cannot account for much more than a small proportion of the total sales generated.

Just a question for you all to ponder on a rainy day....

Found this link.

And one for sunken treasure ships.
