Title: Re: 4 roman and 1 hammy not a bad 2 hours work Post by: handyman [Alan} on October 19, 2009, 05:18:09 PM well done adie, superb finds.
the top left has the letters IVLCRIS PVSNOBC. the reverse [vot x] has the letters CAESARVM NOSTRORVM celebrates the 10th imperial anniversary. the coin dates 318 to 324. [reference reece, roman coins of britain - page 33] the one next to it suggests constantine or constans. i can't match your finds or effort today, but i came close with 3 fibula fragments in 90 minutes detecting. photos tomorrow. well done again and keep up the good work Title: Re: 4 roman and 1 hammy not a bad 2 hours work Post by: Kev on October 19, 2009, 05:19:34 PM my m8 gets back from holls and straight away comes up with this lot and in two hours as well ;D great result ADE m8 well done and welcome back to D,W,COM ;)
