Hi all yes im bored its raining so though give me something to do, and if you feel the same av a go, real nice example.....Quite simple name the famous Jewel......???? Dave  ;D ;D

That would be the Alfred Jewel , Anglo Saxon bling  dating from the end of10th century. Found in 1693 I think. It was made during the reign of Alfred the Great.

You can still see it in Oxford.

Amazing how they dated it to Alfred, though the writing round the side "Alfred Ordered Me To Be Made" might have been a clue.

Think how many personal items of past rulers remain to be found !
