Title: 1st pre decimal coin find Post by: Robot Rob on June 15, 2009, 08:23:19 PM We found this halfpenny and thought it was a 2p coin.
I gave all the coins we found to my son to clean up to save in his money box. While happily scrubbing away at the dirt and corrosion he called me and said "This one looks like there is a man on it and not a lady's face". I think its a Edward VII halfpenny am i correct ??? pics below. Does the date say 190? always nice to get a pleasant surprise. I thought I had a Roman minim the other day but it was a 1/2 pence from 1971. I'd forgotten about those little blighters. Well done.
