Title: where do you start Post by: DIGGA on June 14, 2009, 10:22:54 PM I dont know if this has been posted before but at my rally today i noticed when we first entered the field ,,,,,,,,,,,, some went up the middle ,,,,,, some diagonally ,,,,, and others round the sides first ............ just wondering where do you start in a new field and why ??? ??? ??? i just usually bimble about all over the place ;D ;D

Title: Re: where do you start Post by: U.K. Brian on June 15, 2009, 09:00:05 AM In the average flat field in a non rally situation then the old suggestion of a union jack pattern is still pretty good ie round the edge and across from the corners.
On a rally its often best to keep away from the crowd which could mean running ahead to an area or the opposite, lag behind and pick up the stuff everyone else has missed. Lagging behind should mean you can use more sensitivity and have not had to shift to a less favourable frequency to minimise interference.
