Title: Llantwit Major Rally
Post by: Val Beechey on August 24, 2014, 09:24:09 PM
As per usual, I have to report that, once again, as far as finds were concerned, I managed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. (I don't know how I manage it)  Just a selection of the usual bits including, foil, Horse shoe, Iron and the like. The only thing of interest was a Pigeon ring with part of the leg bone still in it. YUK.   I know some nice finds were made and I'm sure Neil will tell you all about them.
But the weather was kind to us with the Sun putting in a short appearance in the afternoon and the rain held off till John passed the 'Welcome to Pembrokeshire' sign on the way home.  I finally met up with a few of the members that I have 'chatted' to but never seen (worth the £7 for all the hugs and kisses)  ::) ;D  sadly I  missed a few as well  (they were in such a rush to get out there). Maybe catch you next time. ;)
Many thanks to Rob, Neil, Geoff and all the others who organised the day. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Sorry I missed you as well Val.

I enjoyed the day and persevered through the stubble.

I did fairly well in terms of finds, including three hammered (although none in good condition).

Will post some pics tomorrow.

Next Rally I manage to get to, I'm following you Peter.  Well done on your finds you never let the side down. I remember the one and only Denarius that you found on another dig I managed.
