Title: Barry Beach. Post by: celticspikey on June 01, 2014, 09:09:10 PM Friday morning I received my missing lower shaft from Joan Allen for my ctx, and after meeting up with me old mate keepmeteethinthejar....we found ourselves on the beach 1 hr before low tide. Paul quickly set up a beach programme he uses on his ctx and we were off, there was a lot of sand as expected but we did have a few pre-decimals coins, one I had was 16 inches easily, a good sign of this machines capabilities. a few silver sixpences also turned up at god depths however no rings for us although we met another detectorist's also using a ctx and he banged out a nice 22ct of 6 or 7 grams and as you can imagine we were really pleased for him >:( >:( >:( I reckon me and the ctx are going to get on just fine and my biggest worry ??? the weight of the ctx was soon a thing of the past as the balance is superb and after 5 hours I was not experiencing any aches which for an old duffer like me was a good sign ;D Paul can be seen on his knees prior to pulling out a deep coin, and just prior to being accosted by the crazy girl who exposed herself to him...see his previous post ;D his last signal was a large gold earing. hope to have some more beach raiding soon. ;) ;) ;) ;)
