Title: Paypal scam
Post by: Radnor Bandit (Ian) on April 29, 2014, 07:31:53 AM
Just a quick heads up peeps, I had a scam email from what looks like paypal to the effect my account has been temporary frozen due to heartbleed bug, and it says click on the link to rectify it.
DO NOT OPEN IT
Instead you should forward the mail to  spoof@paypal.co.uk
This spoof mail was addressed , "hello dear customer"
All emails from paypal are addressed to the account holder by name and do not contain links.

I had the same last year!!, and the actual paypal page was almost identical, they wanted my password, they said my account was frozen due to a lot of people trying to access it. Grrrrrrrrrrr

We've had the same with BT Norwich Union, Nat West and a string of others.  Joke on them is we don't even have an account with any of these except BT.

We've made a rule,   If you get an E.Mail from anyone you do have an account with,  DONT open it, go to the official site and check it out there or phone them.   Same applies to phone calls, and don't phone immediately, leave it for an hour.

I get them all the time from either a bank or paypal/ebay and I now always check the email address from where it's come from which is usually a dead give away ;)
