Post by: Mrmayo on November 04, 2013, 09:42:27 AM Found this on the charity dig yesterday and at first I thought it was just a fob matrix but looking on the database it looks like it could be Roman!!! It matches one that is on there almost identical except mine is complete would be very gratefull if someone could confirm this,

Does the matrix survive? as it could come down to that. :-\

I would say post-medieval, late 16th to 17th century. Can you get a better pic of the design of the matrix please? I found the best thing to use was a dark colour play-doh..... but if using blue tac go carefull I took the patina face straight off one before :'(
