Well after much deliberation I have taken the plunge and purchased a Deus, and after 3 hours on a small Roman site I could not believe what I turned up, nothing spectacular to look at but a very nice total of 4th century coins, and a couple of partefacts also Roman? lots of lead as well. This machine is awesome and cant wait to really get used of it, presently I am working in factory pre-set programmes , Deus Fast to be precise, there is nothing I do not like about this machine?? ok the price may be, that said it is hundreds of pounds less than Minelabs top of the range, and I don't need a £100 harness to reduce the weight ;D ;D I'm in love, will I ditch my trusty Elite? no but I will cheat on it ::)and take the Deus out a lot for sure. ;) ;) ;) ;)

Nice finds Spikey, did you go for the Deus lite or the full works ?

True a great machine. A wise choice. I still have my much loved Minelab XS but it doesn't get off the subs bench these days. Having said that it's only because of the weight. Can't even swing it now with my arm and shoulder problems.

Full works dryland, what the heck, ::) it was a bit chatty in that mode, but banged those little  Roman minims out mite have to drop sensitivity down a bit, early days thou ;)

Yeh will use my Elite with big coil on beaches as usual, will get the 11" coil for Deus when they are in the country??dealers are all out of stock, was told might be after xmas :o ???

Well you have finally seen  the light  ;D

Believe me once you get your head round the Deus you will never use the Elite again

All your fields will be like searching undetected sites again

And with the 11 coil and the right settings its a killer machine

I was saying all this three years ago but was shouted down.

It's good to see people finally realise how good it is and more importantly how nice to use.

Well its nearly 4 years since I started to shout up for the Deus and boy did I get some flack.

Welcome to the world of Monsieur Deus at my age now 79 it has given my detecting a new lease of life.

The finds will keep coming without the aches and pains of using a heavy machine. ;)  Jerry.

I agree i used to lean more towards my se pro, but lately the Deus has taken over, the lightness of it prolongs the time I can keep detecting, There are some draw backs dependant on settings that it does like deep iron, but you should in time get used to those signals.

Thought about one myself but I'm thinking it'd be a waste of money on my permissions. The old rule doesn't change with the detector. If it aint there you wont find it.

I've seen you detecting with the Minelab.........you're usually propped up on it having a fag!!!  ;D

Well there you go then, that's why I don't use a Deus...the damn thing would collapse ;D

You wouldn't need comfort breaks = more detecting = more finds!  ;D
